Growing up in Canada, Gerhard Westphalen has always had a passion for music. Although his roots are in classical music, having studied violin and piano from an early age, he has branched out into the various roles associated with music in film, TV, and games. Gerhard is also attracted to technology used to create music for visual media and is enthusiastic about helping other composers set up and troubleshoot their rigs. He studied music and computer science at the University of Calgary and at the Berklee College of Music. He has also refined his skills with mentorship from masters including Shawn Murphy and Ken Goerres. Having worked with clients from around the world, Gerhard is well accustomed to long distance workflow.
